THE MAN BEHIND THE BLOG

THE MAN BEHIND  THE BLOG: www.deuceaquaberry.blogspot.com There are some unique careers out there that require no specific major, no particular career background—they make you wonder, “How on earth does someone get that job?” That thought process was part of what gave birth to: www.deuceaquaberry.blogspot.com,. i started the blog with the sole purpose of publishing my research work: "NIGERIA MEMORIAL", Which talks about the ills and thrills of the early days of my country Nigeria, but it soon materialized into something bigger. "One of my goals is to help young people feel more comfortable with the unknown,” and to correct the wrong teachings they get from schools regarding the history of Nigeria. some of my published findings may seen Dangerous as most people will think but the truth must be told, if not by me today its by some one else. i must tell you all though that “I don’t think it takes a lot to inspire someone to find their greatness.”

NIGERIA MEMORIAL... PART 9*....

NIGERIA MEMORIAL.... ....….At about 7.00 am,  a day after the coup, Shehu Shagari, a very active member of Balewa cabinet and a strong member of the NPC, returned to Dipcharima’s residence to meet with some NPC ministers who had gathered there. Dipcharima was then the most senior NPC minister available. they received the latest reports on the situation, first from Alhaji Maitama Sule, Minister of Mines and Power, who had visited the PM’s residence by bicycle!  then they heard from Alhaji Ibrahim Tako Galadima, the acting Minister of Defence, who had brought along with him Chief Fani-Kayode. Chief Fani-Kayode said he had been fetched from Ibadan early that morning by rebels and locked up at the Federal Guard Officers Mess in Dodan Barracks, where the mutineers initially made their headquarters. Disguised in army uniform, loyal troops handed him over to Alhaji Galadima, who had called in at the barracks, which was a stone’s throw of his residence……………. The acting Minister of Defenc

NIGERIA MEMORIAL......... ==== THE PAUSE so far so good: The coup succeeded in Kaduna, the northern region capital, but failed in Lagos, the federal capital, and in Ibadan, the western regional capital, and barely took place in Benin the mid-western capital, and Enugu the eastern capital. The majority of those murdered were northerners, accompanied by some westerners and a few Midwesterner. Some BOOKS, TEACHINGS AND ARTICLES, will tell you that No easterner lost his or her life, during the failed coup, but that's not entirely true. Quartermaster-General of the Nigerian Army at Army Headquarters in Lagos,  Lt-Col Arthur Unegbe, was Shot and killed by the mutineers who were of the same ethnic origin as he. so arguably, that dismisses the case of a total igbo coup! in totality, the coup failed! but that was not the end of it. what followed next is what some scholars will describe as a game of ethnic complicity and that singular mistake plunged Nigeria fully into a

IBADAN- How Captain NWOBOSHI {a mid-western officer} killed AKINTOLA The coup caught many of the army’s high command by surprise as many of them were away from their posts.  Lt-Col Francis Fajuyi was on leave, and command of the Lagos battalion was in the process of being transferred from Lt-Col Hilary Njoku to Lt-Col Gowon, who was returning from a course overseas.  In Ibadan, the Premier of the western region Chief Samuel Akintola had been forewarned that soldiers were coming to get him. Akintola had heard rumours of a coup and had travelled to Kaduna to warn the Premier of the northern region Ahmadu Bello.  Frustrated that his warnings failed to elicit the required degree of urgency from Bello, Akintola returned to Ibadan and armed himself with a rifle.  His deputy Chief Fani-Kayode was first arrested by the coupists.  After this arrest, Kayode’s wife informed Akintola of what had happened. Shortly afterward, a detachment of soldiers led by Captain Emmanuel Nwobosi arrived at Ak

HOW IT HAPPENED IN LAGOS Major Emmanuel Ifeajuna led the soldiers that carried out the coup in lagos and was assisted by: Majors Wale Ademoyega, Don Okafor, Chris Anuforo, and Humphrey Chukwuka.. Ifeajuna and some of his over zealous lieutenants left the 2nd Brigade HQ at 2:00 am and made their way to Prime Minister Abubakar Tafewa Balewa’s residence.  After several minutes of Exchange of Gun fire, with the Guards, They overpowered (but did not kill) the police officers standing guard there, and Ifeajuna kicked down the door of the Prime Minister’s bedroom before personally leading him out at gunpoint.  It appears that while the arrest of the Prime Minister was part of the plot, his murder was not! Ifeajuna and some of his co-conspirators exceeded their orders in killing him.. The reason for this action remains unknown...proof of this was after the coup failed, Nzeogwu rattled off a list of names that were on the Majors' hit list. He mentioned the Bad eggs such as Bello, Azi
